• What are the key descriptive words that describe what your web site has to offer?

Once these questions have been answered the web site creation can begin. For the text for your home page, it is best if you can communicate your message using the keywords you have already listed. This will help ensure a good placement from some search engines. Other considerations are:

• What existing graphics, photographs and messages do you have that would help achieve your goal?
• Do you have existing business colours that you would like to predominate in the web site design?
• How can your web site and existing marketing or communication efforts best reinforce and complement each other?
• Do you need interactive feedback forms, or will e-mail suit your purposes?
• What are the payment and shipping options available if your web site includes e-commerce?
• Should your web site be designed for frequent product changes?

• What hosting solution best suits your online presence?
• Will it be easier to maintain the web site yourself, or will it be more effective and efficient to take advantage of the specialization and expertise of web design professionals?
• What are the options for search engine updating and linking to your web site?
